Anne Milgram on DEA fight against fentanyl

BY SPECTRUM NEWS STAFF PUBLISHED 5:30 AM ET JUN. 30, 2022

Over the past few years the number of overdose deaths in America has risen at an alarming rate. More than 107,000 people died last year alone from overdoses, a record-high. Fentanyl, in particular, is largely responsible for the rapid increase.

Errol Louis sat down with Anne Milgram, the administrator of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, for a candid discussion about what America is up against. She talked about how the drug problem has changed since her years as the New Jersey Attorney General, and what the DEA is doing to combat it.
